Biography
Rogério Antonio Lucca is the Executive Secretary of the Banco Central do Brasil (BCB). He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and a postgraduate degree in Business Management from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). His career at the BCB spans over two decades, marked by a strong commitment to excellence and innovation in public management. He has held key positions such as Head of Monetary Policy Deputy Governor's Office and Head of the Banking Department. Between 2016 and 2017, he broadened his experience by serving as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Finance during Henrique Meirelles’ administration. At the BCB, he played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of Pix, Brazil’s instant payment system, and in the pilot of Drex, the Brazilian digital currency. He also actively contributed to the implementation of Liquidity Financial Lines. Lucca has significant international experience, having represented the BCB in global forums such as the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the BIS Innovation Hub, the BIS Cross-border Payments Community of Practice, and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
